This sonata, written in a traditional if not an entirely standard
classical sonata form was dedicated to Henryke (Henriette) Leonarda
Grafin Baworowska one of the children of the Polish Count Viktor
Baworowski who employed the composer as private tutor between 1808 and
1810 and probably constituted part of the teaching materials the
composer used. The composer's talent for setting technically simple
parts to a sonorously vibrant and dynamic form is clear from the opening
bars and the pace is maintained straight through to the rousing finale.
