With the two Sonatas Op. 47 Dussek today presents himself as a composer
who already in 1801 produced music that was outrageously romantic,
without missing the classical feeling for form. In the Sonata in D
major, Mozart experts find another work that after the Variations KV 573
picks up the thematic material of the Menuetto by Jean-Pierre Duport,
molding it into surprising shifts of harmony. All in all the advanced
pianist is guaranteed to find two compositions that demand a crisp and
