In this transcription for piano 4 hands of Boieldieu's overture to his
celebrated comic opera "Jean de Paris", Czerny brought the same
masterful skills to bear that he used as a student in Fidelio under
Beethoven's authoritative education. This new publication is a valuable
addition to Bisel Classics series of works by Carl Czerny and hopefully
stimulates another step forward in the process of revitalising Czerny's
rich and varied output, a grand achievement with more than one thousand
works of the finest quality under his name.
