Agathe Backer-Grondahl was a prominent figure on the Norwegian music
scene, known as both a pianist and composer, and marrying the conductor
Olams Andreas Grondahl. She is known for her songs, and her works for
piano."Sechs Konzertetuden" is a set of six studies, all of which
concentrate on different skills required by the pianist (such as the art
of moving melodic lines between different hands, balancing of melody
and accompaniment within one hand and legato performance techniques).
They are not only effective studies, but also serve as six wonderful
works for performance, whether performed collectively or individually.
